Funding Opportunity Announcement for Liver Cirrhosis Network The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is issuing a new funding notice seeking applications for research on liver cirrhosis. There are currently two major studies underway under the Liver Cirrhosis Network: Liver Cirrhosis Network Longitudinal Cohort Study RESCU Study β a clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a drug (Rosuvastatin) that is being conducted in the United States. The purpose of this new funding program (NOFO) is to complete enrollment of patients in both of these ongoing studies, analyze their results, disseminate the results, and conduct further scientific research.
Funding Opportunity Announcement for Liver Cirrhosis Network This notice is issued so that scientists and researchers who have expertise in this area can start building their teams and developing good projects early. This funding will be provided through a special type of cooperative agreement (U01 Cooperative Agreement). For this, researchers with expertise in liver diseases and translational science (i.e., turning laboratory research into pactical treatments) will be specifically invited.

What are the available Liver Cirrhosis Research Grants in 2025 for medical researchers?
In 2025, several funding opportunities are available for liver disease researchers, including the Liver Cirrhosis Research Grants 2025. These grants are offered by organizations like the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) to support innovative clinical and translational research focused on cirrhosis diagnosis, treatment, and management.
How can researchers apply for NIDDK Clinical Research Funding related to liver cirrhosis?
Researchers can apply for NIDDK Clinical Research Funding through the NIH grant portal by responding to specific Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs). Proposals focusing on cirrhosis treatment options, disease progression, or prevention may qualify under NIDDKβs liver disease research programs.
Is there a clinical trial involving Rosuvastatin for cirrhosis patients in 2025?
Yes, a Rosuvastatin Cirrhosis Clinical Trial is being conducted in 2025 to evaluate the efficacy and safety of rosuvastatin in patients with advanced liver cirrhosis. This trial aims to determine whether statin therapy can slow fibrosis progression or reduce portal hypertension in cirrhotic patients.
What are U01 Cooperative Agreement Opportunities for liver disease research?
U01 Cooperative Agreement Opportunities are NIH-supported grants that promote collaborative research, especially for complex health issues like liver cirrhosis. These opportunities allow researchers to work closely with NIH program staff and are ideal for multi-center studies and consortia-based research such as the Liver Cirrhosis Network.
Where can I find the latest Funding Opportunity Announcement for the Liver Cirrhosis Network?
The Funding Opportunity Announcement for the Liver Cirrhosis Network is published on the NIH Grants website. It outlines eligibility, funding limits, application deadlines, and research priorities. Researchers interested in joining the network or leading collaborative trials should regularly check the NIDDK or NIH FOA pages.
